Officials: Cyclists from French team questioned

Updated: November 29, 2011, 13:41

PARIS (AP) Two officials with direct knowledge of the case say riders from second-tier French cycling team BigMat-Auber93 have been questioned in connection with a probe into suspected doping.

One official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to publicly disclose details of the preliminary investigation, said authorities are investigating the possible sale, purchase and possession of doping products, including EPO.

A second official said the riders were questioned at the public prosecutors office Tuesday in Creteil, on the outskirts of Paris. The official, who also spoke on condition of anonymity because the case was still under investigation, said a doctor had also been taken in for questioning by police Tuesday.
