MUR-DE-BRETAGNE, France (AP) Injured Belgian cyclist Jurgen Van de Walle has become the first rider to drop out of the Tour de France.

The Omega Pharma-Lotto team says Van de Walle withdrew Tuesday during the 107-mile fourth stage from Lorient to Mur-de-Bretagne in western France. He has lingering groin pain from a crash during Saturday's first stage.

The pack is down to 197 competitors. The race ends July 24 in Paris.
