The Government's Cycle to Work scheme allows for a £1k spend on a cycle so we thought it would be useful to review four of the leaders in this price range so you know who to spend your grand with. Most price-up right on the money but one model goes a little over the upper price limit but should you wish to top up the scheme out of your own pocket, you wouldn't regret it. Find which bike you should get if you have £1k to spend.

The Holdsworth-Campagnolo racing team will bring back many fond memories to many cycling fans and a project to revive some of that magic in the form of a new racing bike looks set to come to fruition very soon as the Holdsworth Professional goes on sale. Meanwhile in Sydney, young Aussie, Jack Bobridge has broken a world record that has stood for over 15 years when Chris Boardman set it way back in '96.
